Relation to curriculumCourse description:
This course provides an overview of animal types and breeds, including the assessment of animals based on their exterior qualities (such as estimating age, body condition score, and weight of livestock), animal handling techniques, and the habits and benefits of animals to humans. It covers large and small livestock, poultry, pet animals, wild animals, and aquatic animals.

Relation to curriculum:
This course equips students with essential skills in animal assessment, handling, and understanding animal behavior, laying the foundation for effective clinical practice and animal management throughout the veterinary curriculum.

WorkloadStudents are required to complete a minimum of 90.67 hours in one semester, which consist of:
1. Face-to-face class activities (26.67 hours)
2. Structured assignments (32 hours)
3. Independent study (32 hours)
Credit points2 credit points (equivalent to 3.02 ECTS)

Students must attend a minimum of 80% of classes and submit all assignments before the final exam.

3. Identification and assessment of small ruminants (caprine and ovine)
4. Identification and assessment of monogastric livestock (equine and swine)
5. Identification and assessment of poultry
6. Identification and assessment of pet animals (canine and feline)
7. Identification and assessment of wild and exotic animals
8. Identification and assessment of primates
9. Identification and assessment of aquatic animals

Study and examination requirements and forms of examinationStudy and examination requirements:
1. Students must arrive 10 minutes before the class starts and 15 minutes before the examination starts.
2. Students must switch off all electronic devices during the offline classes.
3. Students must switch on the video camera during the online classes.
4. Students must inform the lecturer if they will not attend class due to sickness or other reasons.
5. Students must submit all class assignments before the deadline.
6. Students must attend the exam to receive a final grade.
